FAQ
What maintenance does a garage door opener need?
Test the safety reverse and sensors monthly, keep the rail and chain lubricated where the maker recommends it, and have the door and opener checked once a year.
Can you replace just the garage door motor?
Sometimes. If the rail and door are in good shape, we can replace the motor unit. If parts aren’t available, a complete replacement is usually better.
Are smart garage door openers worth it?
For many homeowners, yes. They add remote control, alerts and access sharing from your phone.
How long does garage door opener installation take?
Most installations take about two to three hours, depending on the system.
Which is better: a belt drive or chain drive garage door opener?
A belt drive opener is quieter, which is ideal for attached garages. A chain drive opener is strong and economical, which suits heavy doors and detached garages.
Do you repair LiftMaster garage door openers?
Yes. We repair LiftMaster openers and all other major brands.
Should I repair or replace my garage door opener?
Consider replacement if the opener is 10–15 years old or more, fails often, or repairs would cost around half the price of a new one.
Can garage door openers be repaired?
Yes. Most opener problems can be repaired, which is often more affordable than a full replacement.
Why does my garage door reverse when I try to close it?
Most often the safety sensors are misaligned or dirty. Damaged rollers or tracks and incorrect force settings can also cause it.
Why is my opener motor running but the door isn’t moving?
Usually a stripped gear, a broken belt or chain, or a disconnected trolley. We can diagnose and fix it on site.
